China Mobile Launches Competition for TD-SCDMA SPs

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) has launched a competition today in Beijing for innovation in G3 branded TD-SCDMA wireless value-added services (WVAS). The competition will begin accepting submissions on August 17 and expects to bring winning services online by the end of the year. To foster G3 WVAS development China Mobile is offering incentives to winning service providers (SPs), including allowing SPs 100% share of revenue for their service's first year, providing placement on mobile internet portals and pre-installation on handsets, bundling services in TD-SCDMA service plans, and providing marketing and advertising.
