Alibaba.com Acquires Alisoft Business Management Software Division

Alibaba.com (1688.HK) has signed a deal to purchase Alisoft's enterprise software business from parent company Alibaba Group for RMB 208 mln. The business includes a line of small business applications for managing customers, inventory and finances.

Alibaba.com will pay RMB 193.44 mln in cash along with RMB 14.56 mln in restricted shares to Alisoft employees. Alibaba.com will also take on RMB 19.62 mln in liabilities, primarily in deferred revenues on customer contracts that have not yet expired and accounts receivable.

Alisoft is a wholly owned subsidiary of Alibaba Group.

Editor's Note: The purchase will be complete on September 1, 2009, when over 200 employees from the enterprise management software business will be integrated with Alibaba.com's Information Science Enterprise division while keeping the Alisoft trademark.
