China Telecom Estimates 2009 Mobile ARPU at RMB 60

China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) management has revealed estimates that its mobile business achieved an average revenue per user (ARPU) of approximately RMB 60 in 2009, and estimates that this year the number will fall by less than RMB 5 (roughly 8%).

China Telecom said that by the end of December there were more than 430 CDMA handset models available in China, of which approximately 400 were 2.5G or better. China Telecom estimates that total CMDA handset sales for 2009 in China came to 2.6 - 2.7 mln units.
