Alibaba to Launch Wholesale Business in March

On March 1, Hangzhou-based e-commerce company Alibaba Group will launch 1688.com, its first entry into online wholesale services, with the slogan "Taobao for shopping, 1688 for wholesale."
1688 will continue Alibaba's free registration and zero-cost store setup strategy for attracting vendors. The company plans to promote the new service with RMB 100 mln in ad buys on CCTV and other media outlets.
