Rumor: SARFT Drafting Own List of Convergence Trial Cities

21st Century Business Herald, 2/27/10

A source within China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) said on February 26 that the list of qualifying network convergence trial cities currently circulating online is from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and SARFT is drafting its own list of cities, with a final list expected in April or May of this year.

The list will contain 10 cities, including the eastern developed cities of Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou; Shenzhen in the south; the northeastern cities of Harbin and Shenyang; Chongqing in the west; Wuhan and Changsha in the central part of China; and the northern city of Xinzhou in Shanxi province.
