Konka LED Internet TVs to Support 3rd Party Apps

According to Mu Gang, the vice president and director of multimedia sales for Chinese TV and consumer electronics manufacturer Konka Group (200016.SZ, 000016.SZ), the company's LED internet TVs will be based on an open platform, such that third-party applications will be able to run on its 'Wangrui' (meaning "Net Sharp") series of LED TVs. Mu said that LED internet TVs will be Konka's main color TV product, and Konka will have released a total of 28 'Wangrui' televisions from three different product series by May 1.
According to Konka, 'Wangrui' series internet TVs will provide users access to more than 200 games and 1,000 play modes. Via Konka's partnership with Zhong Lu Lian Xing (http://www.xiaoyinmu.com/), a premium video-on-demand service owned by China's Ministry of Culture, 'Wangrui' internet TV users also have access to more than 100,000 licensed movies and more than 20,000 licensed music videos, as well as educational resources. The 'Wangrui' series will be available nationwide by the beginning of April at the latest. Konka is aiming to sell more than 4 mln 'Wangrui' sets in 2010.
