Television advertising and content production firm Media China (0419.HK) has announced its unaudited fiscal results for 2009, with revenues reaching HKD 276.45 mln, up 54% YoY.
Net income was HKD 1.47 mln, compared to a net loss of HKD 441.06 mln in 2008.
Revenue from television advertising increased by 54% YoY to reach HKD 274.41 mln. The major contributor to Media China's television advertising segment is the exclusive advertising agency business for the Travel Channel. During the year 2009, the Travel Channel's advertising revenue increased by 41% YoY and accounted for approximately 91% of total revenue from the television advertising segment.
Revenue from content production was HKD 2.04 mln, up 26.5% YoY.
Media China aims to reach RMB 700 mln in advertising revenue from the Travel Channel within the next five years.
