MIIT Issues 263 Network Access Permits in First Half of April

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has announced that it issued 263 network access permits in the first half of April.

Six WCDMA handsets, including those from Nokia, Dopod, and Samsung received permits. 8 CDMA2000 handsets, including two dual-mode CDMA2000/GSM handsets, received permits. 11 TD-SCDMA handsets received permits, including the first handsets from Xinjiang Yingputong, a Beijing-based vendor, in addition to five TD-SCDMA wireless wireline phones. Both ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ) and Datang Telecom (600198.SH) each received permits for 4 models of 2GHz TD-SCDMA digital cellular mobile base station.

In addition, 5 TD-SCDMA, 4 CDMA2000, and 1 WCDMA wireless data cards received permits.
