Rumor: Google China Technology Director Joins Baidu

Industry sources have revealed that Google China's technical director Zheng Zibin has joined rival search company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU). Zheng joined Google China in September 2007, and was responsible for numerous R&D projects related to Google's advertising system in China, including brand advertising, search advertising, automatic ad optimization, and ad agency management.
Neither Google nor Baidu have yet responded to the rumor.
Editor's Note: DoNews later reported that an internal source at Baidu has since confirmed Zheng's move, saying that Zheng will head up Baidu's product marketing department.
