China Unicom May Compensate Wi-Fi-Less iPhone Owners

Sohu IT, 5/13/10

China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) CEO Chang Xiaobing recently told foreign media that the company is working with Apple to bring a Wi-Fi capable iPhone to the Chinese mainland. If successful, China Unicom will compensate current users of the existing Wi-Fi-less iPhone model, perhaps by providing those users with free additional 3G internet access. Chang added that China Unicom will lower iPhone prices, conditions permitting.
