China's MoC to Issue Regulations for Online Games

China's Ministry of Culture (MoC) is preparing to release the "Interim Regulations for Online Game Management," which will further clarify rules regarding entrance requirements and content management for online gaming organizations. The document will provide regulations for virtual currency and operations, guidance on R&D, and safeguard consumers' rights, among other areas of policy. The government also hopes to use fiscal and tax policies to drive development and boost market share of internet café chains.
