Rumor: Taobao Mall Prepares Home Furnishing Channel

Alibaba's B2C and C2C e-commerce subsidiary Taobao is planning to open its third vertical channel on Taobao Mall, according to industry sources. The third channel will be for home furnishings, following Taobao Mall's 3C appliances and brand-name shoe channels. Taobao declined to comment on the rumor.
Chinese internet users have reported that sub-domain jia.taobao.com currently redirects to Taobao Mall's home furnishings channel.
The source added that home furnishings and building materials companies Red Star Macalline and Janmart are preparing to join Taobao Mall.
