TCL Adds App Store to LED Internet TV Sets

Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer TCL Corporation (000100.SZ) announced recently that it would push out online upgrades for its V6200 and P11 internet-enabled LED televisions. The upgrades will focus mainly on upgrades to the televisions' platforms and smart applications capabilities. Platform upgrades will include the addition of a third-party applications store from which users will be able to download free applications. Application upgrades will include the addition of photo albums, online news and magazines, web browsing, integrated video from Chinese online video site Youku (NYSE: YOKU), and smart electronic program guide (EPG) applications.
