RIM Launches China Unicom BlackBerry Internet Service Portal

Chinese internet users recently discovered that Research In Motion (RIM) has launched a BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) web portal (chinaunicom.blackberry.com) for China Unicom's (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) "Wo Business" brand.

At the 2011 GSMA Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona in mid-February, China Unicom's executive director, Lu Yimin, said that the company expects to launch its own BlackBerry smartphone in the first half of the year.
