Tapas Obtains USD 10 Mln in First-Round Funding

Tapas, the Android-based mobile OS developer backed by Chinese incubator Innovation Works, announced this morning that it had received more than USD 10 mln in investment in first-round funding from GSR Ventures. Tapas will work with a number of handset makers, including Sharp, Huawei, Tianyu, and Haier, and plans to release Tapas handsets under ten mobile brands within the year.
