Beijing Business Today, 3/30/11

Zhong Kaixin, spokesperson for Chinese B2C apparel retailer Vancl subsidiary Vjia, revealed yesterday that Vjia plans to introduce luxury goods before the end of this year. Initially, this will include the Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Chanel brands, among others; with respect to price, a source inside Vancl has revealed, the above-mentioned brands will be available for markdowns of between 30 and 70 percent.

In a test of the luxury goods market, Vjia has decided that before it begins selling LV bags and other upscale goods, a line of luxury cosmetics will first go on sale in mid-April.
