Google, Chinese Authorities Discuss Online Mapping

Google has announced that it intends to offer internet mapping services in China and it was currently in negotiations with the Chinese government for an online mapping license.

Yesterday was the deadline for mapping license applications, but Google has not disclosed whether it submitted its online mapping license on time. Google sent out an email saying that it planned to offer a mapping service for the Chinese market and it was currently talking with the Chinese government about how it could do so in China.
