Hangzhou-based C2C & B2C e-commerce site Taobao has once again redesigned its search platform ETao, this time eliminating the distinction between products on Taobao and other e-commerce sites. Taobao said it will continue to de-emphasize Taobao products on the search engine.
The previous edition of ETao displayed only four results from other e-commerce platforms, with the remaining results all from Taobao merchants. In contrast, the new version arranges results from all e-commerce sites according to brand, price and other facets, rather than dividing results between Taobao and non-Taobao merchants.
