Rumor: GAPP to Approve WoW Expansion Pack by May

Tencent Tech, 5/09/11

An industry source has claimed that the new World of Warcraft expansion pack, Cataclysm, could pass official review by China's General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) as early as this month, and that online game developer and operator Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) will soon begin to finalize plans for the pack's release. The company reportedly hopes to see an official launch in early August.

According to the source, game developer Activision-Blizzard's RPG Diablo III will be released in October this year, and Netease will gain exclusive mainland China operating rights for the game.
