Rumor: China Unicom to Reduce 2-Year Contract iPhone 3GS Price

China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) has announced that on June 1 it will reduce the price of an 8GB iPhone 3GS as part of a two-year 3G contract by RMB 1,000, from RMB 4,999 to RMB 3,999.
New users who choose the RMB 66 monthly package for the 8GB iPhone 3GS will need to prepay a deposit of RMB 700 and pay RMB 3,299 for the value of the phone. If users choose a monthly package of RMB 266 or higher for the 8GB iPhone 3GS, they simply need to prepay a deposit of RMB 3,999, with no additional cost.
