Chinese internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) and the Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) began a partnership today to allow Baidu advertising clients in greater Beijing to pay ad fees via ABC branch service windows, ATM terminals, and online banking.
Prior to this, similar payment options were available to Baidu clients at China's Bank of Communications and the Industrial and Commerce Bank of China (ICBC). At the same time, Bank of China, China Merchants Bank, and China Construction Bank are all close to launching Baidu ad fee payment services of their own.
Advertising clients need only apply using their Baidu account to gain access to the service, and can settle their accounts with Baidu at any time with participating banks using various methods, including debit cards, cash and checks. Once a transaction has been completed, the deposited amount appears immediately in users' Baidu accounts, the remaining balance of which can be checked in real-time.
