Ministry of Culture Approves 3rd WoW Expansion Pack

Sina Tech, 6/13/11

According to the Ministry of Culture's online game content review system, Shanghai EaseNet Network Technology, the subsidiary of Chinese internet company Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) responsible for operating World of Warcraft, has received written approval for Cataclysm, the third WoW expansion pack, via the MoC's "2011 Online Game Import Document No. 15." The document is dated June 1.

Netease said that it was aware of having received approval for the expansion pack, but issued no further comment. The review process differed this time from that of the last expansion pack, Wrath of the Lich King, which was initially reviewed and approved by China's General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP).
