Sina Weibo to Release New Version

TechWeb, 6/23/11

Peng Shaobin, general manager of Chinese internet company Sina's (Nasdaq: SINA) Weibo microblogging platform, today revealed on his microblog that Weibo will soon release a new version. Based on screenshots Peng posted online, the new version's interface resembles SNS platforms such as Kaixin001 and Renren (NYSE: RENN), adding a personal homepage, photo album, music, activities, polls, and other functions to the left-hand column.
