Rumor: Taomee Investor Caught in China Mobile Probe

An industry source has said that Jason Zeng (Zeng Liqing), prominent investor and key shareholder in Shanghai-based children's virtual world developer and operator Taomee (NYSE: TAOM), is under investigation for possible involvement in the ongoing China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) corruption investigation.

Zeng is one of the five founders of Chinese internet giant Tencent (0700.HK) and served as the company's COO from 1999 to 2007. Zeng has worked as an angel investor since his departure from Tencent.
