Rumor: China to Launch National Cable TV Operator This Month

Wu Chunyong, editor-in-chief of radio and television broadcast industry news portal DWRH.net, said today that China's national-level cable network company could launch within the month. China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) had initially planned for the company to launch in June or July 2011, with this month likeliest.

In 2010, China's radio and television industry revenues totaled approximately RMB 223.8 bln nationwide.
