The Postal Savings Bank of China launched its cable DTV banking system in Nanjing yesterday. Users can register for the service by entering their ID number and bank account number in "Postal Savings Bank" under the "Banking Services" section of the interactive DTV interface. Li Cailin, deputy director of the Postal Savings Bank of China, said that bank customers would be able to check their account balances, transfer funds, pay credit card and utility bills, and pay for TV shopping purchases through the new service.
The Postal Savings Bank began developing the DTV banking service in March, and will expand the service to encompass fund services, finance management, and personal loans in the future.
Editor's Note: Cable TV services in Nanjing are operated by the local branch of Jiangsu Broadcasting Television Network.
