Rumor: China Mobile TD-LTE Trials Complete Basic Networks

China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) six TD-LTE trial cities - Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Xiamen - have reportedly completed core and wireless networks, with the majority of more than 1,000 planned base stations set up and activated. China Mobile and its manufacturer partners completed testing of core network, transmission, carrier, and security systems in June, and could achieve all of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's (MIIT) milestones for first-stage trials by late September.
