Qunar to Invest RMB 20 Mln in Mobile Business

Tencent Tech, 8/11/11

Chinese travel services site Qunar recently announced that it plans to invest RMB 20 mln in developing its wireless business over the next two years. Yang Changle, Qunar's director of wireless products, said that Qunar's next move would be to implement in-app mobile payment services for at least 14 banks, with support for China Merchants Bank payments to come first. Qunar's mobile applications will also allow users to book hotel rooms using their phones.

Qunar had previously implemented third-party payment support in its iPhone and Android clients. On August 5, the company announced a mobile client for the iPad that displays navigation information for hotel listings based on the user's current location.
