SARFT Developing Smart TV Middleware Standards

Sheng Zhifan, director of the technology and standards management office within the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television's (SARFT) Department of Science and Technology, recently announced that SARFT is currently developing smart TV operating system middleware standards called "TV-OS." TV-OS middleware will be compatible with Linux, Android and Windows smart TV operating systems. Following the successful completion of TV-OS middleware industry standards, all manufacturers of smart TV products in China will be obliged to comply.
