TV Shipments by China's Top 6 Vendors Up 34% YoY

PJTime, 9/14/11

China's six largest TV manufacturers shipped 2.92 mln units in July 2011, according to Taiwan-based TV industry market consulting firm WitsView, up 12.5% month-over-month and up 33.7% YoY. The six largest manufacturers are Changhong (600839.SH), Haier, Hisense (600060.SH), Konka (200016.SZ, 000016.SZ), Skyworth Digital Holdings (0751.HK), and TCL Corporation (000100.SZ). The rise in shipments was attributed to low sales in July 2010, reduced prices in July 2011, and increased shipments as retailers prepare for the October 1 National Day holiday sales season.

Taiwanese LCD manufacturer Chimei Innolux was the largest LCD flat panel supplier for the six vendors, accounting for 38% of all LCD imports, followed by LG Display with 24%, AU Optronics with 17%, and Samsung with 15%.

For the January to July period, Chimei and LG Display accounted for 29.5% and 29.2% of total LCD flat panel imports, while Samsung accounted for 17.7% and AU Optronics accounted for 17.2%.
