Hangzhou-based B2C e-commerce site Taobao Mall has officially unveiled its B2C open platform strategy, with 38 vertical B2C e-commerce sites opening official stores on Taobao Mall. Among the 38 companies participating are Shanghai-based B2C Yihaodian, Zhejiang-based luxury goods e-tailer Yintai, Chinese home appliance and consumer electronics retailer Gome's (0493.HK) Coo8, Shenzhen-based online lottery operator 500Wan.com, Mecox Lane (Nasdaq: MCOX), online shoe retailer Letao, 3C e-tailer Newegg China, apparel e-commerce site Okaybuy, maternity and baby products B2C Redbaby, fashion B2C Xiu.com, brand-name discount B2C Vipshop, clothing B2C Vancl, and fashion B2C Belle.
Taobao Mall expects total transaction volume to approach RMB 100 bln this year, and RMB 200 bln in 2012.
