mInfo, China Telecom SMS Search Reaches 1.6 Mln Daily Queries

Shanghai-based mobile search provider mInfo and China Telecom's (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) co-developed Best Tone "QuanNengSou" (OmniSearch) SMS mobile search service has exceeded 1.6 mln peak daily queries. The service had 20 mln queries in the month of August alone.

Both traffic volume and the number of active users grew over 100% in Q3 2011 compared to Q1 2011. During the month of August, active users used the service on average once a day per active user.

The service was launched 18 months ago in March 2010, and currently over 96% of search results are returned by the automated system instead of a human representative.
