Sina Tech, 10/17/11
Chinese social game developer Happy Elements today announced it has obtained USD 30 mln in second-round funding from Legend Capital and Doll Capital Management (DCM). CEO Wang Haining said the new funds will be used for HR and expanding the company's mobile gaming business.
Established in 2009, Happy Elements launched its first self-developed game, My Fishbowl, on Facebook in August this year. In the past three months, the number of daily active users has risen to 2.4 mln. DCM led the company's first round of funding last year.
Happy Elements has released four games to date, according to Wang, and plans to release at least eight more by the end of 2011. Happy Elements recently launched an iOS mobile application for My Fishbowl.
Happy Elements has launched games on 15 SNS platforms worldwide, growing from 8 to nearly 300 employees with offices in Beijing and Tokyo.
