Rumor: Sina to Acquire Chinaz.com

According to an industry source, Chinese internet company Sina (Nasdaq: SINA) has plans to acquire webmaster online community site ChinaZ.com. A source within ChinaZ denied the rumor, pointing to earlier erroneous rumors that Tencent (0700.HK) would acquire ChinaZ, instead later acquiring internet community solutions provider Comsenz.

Founded in March 2002, ChinaZ currently has over 1 mln users and provides industry news, programming resources, community space and services to operators of websites in China.
