Rumor: SARFT to Issue New Internet TV STB Regulations

Beijing Business Today, 11/03/11

China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) is currently drafting detailed regulations regarding internet TV set-top boxes to be released later this month, according to an industry source. SARFT issued a notice in July 2011 prohibiting the operation of unauthorized internet TV platforms and the unlicensed production or sale of internet TV set-top boxes.
