Sogou Browser to Integrate Recommendation Engine

Chinese Internet firm Sohu's (Nasdaq: SOHU) online search subsidiary Sogou today announced a new recommendation engine, the "Explorer Engine," that will be integrated into its Sogou Browser.

The new engine builds recommendations, powered by Sogou's search engine, into the browser. For example, if a user is reading a news article online, the engine will recommend related news items and comments. When engaged in online shopping, the user will receive information on price comparison, coupons, and product reviews at the bottom of the browser, allowing users to search without using a search box or inputting keywords.
