China Telecom Begins IPTV Platform Expansion Tender

China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) recently opened tender bidding for IPTV 2.0 platform expansion in six provinces. The expansion will take place in Fujian, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Hainan, Hunan, and Chongqing. Huawei, ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ), UTStarcom, Cisco, and Channelsoft are among the firms invited to submit bids. The evaluation process will be 45% based on technology, 35% on price, 10% on business operations (company size, business licenses, etc.), and 10% on service, and the top-ranked firm will win the largest share of orders.

China Telecom has already completed its latest IPTV set-top box procurement tender.
