Taiwanese E-Paper Manufacturer Opens New Yangzhou Subsidiary

The Taiwan Affairs Office in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province has announced that Taiwanese e-paper manufacturer Chuanqi Photoelectricity Technology's subsidiary Chuanyue Technology (Yangzhou) has started production.

A wholly-owned subsidiary of Taiwanese company E Ink Holdings, Yangzhou-based Chuanqi Photoelectricity Technology has received a total of RMB 10 bln in investment and has launched 15 subsidiaries of its own.

According to E Ink chairman Scott Liu, Chuanqi has maintained a monthly output of more than 1.6 mln sheets of e-paper since beginning production in 2002, drawing clients such as Amazon, Sony, Samsung and Lenovo (0992.HK).

Chuanyue has received RMB 197 mln in total investment, and its main operations consist of manufacturing and sales of more than 2.5 mln small and medium (10.4 inches and below) sheets of thin film transistor color liquid crystal e-paper each month.
