Chinese internet company Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) recently launched a free iPhone client for television programming listings. Users will be able to check weekly listings for more than 500 channels, including CCTV, satellite channels, and regional television stations, through the app. Features include "Scheduled Notifications," which alerts users when programming of their choice is about to air, "Top Listings," which shows popular TV drama, film, and talent competition programming, "Comment Tower," which lets users comment on TV programs as they watch and share their reactions to their microblog accounts, and "Editor's Picks."
iPhone users can download the free app from the iTunes App Store by searching for "Netease TV Guide."
Netease has continued its efforts in the mobile domain throughout 2011 with a slew of mobile applications including clients for its news service, OpenCourseWare clients, e-reader clients, and others.
