Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Haier (1169.HK) has unveiled new technologies for its 2012 product lineup at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, highlighting its new TV sets.
Haier has revealed that its new TV sets for 2012 will deliver a "cloud living" experience that acts as a hub, receiving and transmitting information directly to and from other terminals such as cell phones and computers. Furthermore, its new TVs will be able to act as a remote control for washing machines, PCs, and other Haier appliances in the home.
Another technology development unveiled by Haier is its virtually edgeless (frameless) cloud TV set, which enhances the user's visual experience by taking the picture beyond the frame for both 2D and 3D formats. In terms of solely 3D developments, Haier unveiled its glasses-free 3D TV, which removes the need for consumers to wear 3D glasses to view three-dimensional content.
In a further development, Haier has also showcased its newly upgraded brain wave technology. This solution changes the interaction between the user and their TV by giving users the power to control the TV - from changing channels to volume level - with their mind.
