BOE Develops 32-inch Transparent Color LCD

Chinese TFT-LCD manufacturer BOE (000725.SZ) announced recently that it had developed a 32" transparent color LCD display. The display uses LCD panels from BOE's recent-generation production lines, and features high resolution, a wide viewing angle, and high contrast. A 17" transparent LCD display panel can be turned on and off remotely to toggle between transparent and normal modes of operation. The transparent displays can be combined with other functionality, including multitouch and smart display technology, to serve as information display terminals with display, interactivity, and advertising functionality for applications such as display windows in department stores, windows in refrigerator doors, car windscreens, or vending machine windows.
