China's 2011 Ad Spend Up 15%

According to Chinese TV advertising firm Charm Communications' (Nasdaq: CHRM) 2011 China Advertising, Marketing, and Media Research Report, China's total ad spend in 2011 rose 14.5% YoY to reach RMB 669.3 bln. TV ad spend rose 13.9% YoY, while radio ad spend grew 30.2% YoY, outdoor media rose 3.7% YoY, and online advertising rose 35.6% YoY. Ad spend for cosmetics, commercial services, food and beverage, and pharmaceuticals together accounted for 57.4% of total ad spend.

Charm VP Zhao Yihe estimates that China's ad market will grow 13% YoY in 2012, less than in 2011.
