Xiaomi Users Complain of Poor After-Sales Services

A number of Beijing-based Android handset developer Xiaomi's customers have complained of difficulties reaching Xiaomi's after-sales service phone hotline, a dearth of Xiaomi storefronts, high maintenance fees, and long waits and high costs when sending phones back for repairs. Xiaomi immediately announced that it will invest RMB 200 mln this year to strengthen its after-sales service system, including distribution, warehousing, and maintenance services.

Xiaomi's PR director Liu Fei told National Business Daily that Xiaomi has opened seven stores and is preparing to open 23 more, bringing the total to 30 before the end of March. Xiaomi also has authorized service counters in 163 cities across 26 provinces, with total retail locations (stores and service counters) reaching 233 by the end of March. Xiaomi aims to have 400 locations in 180 cities by the end of 2012.
