Rumor: Kingsoft to Develop Games for Tencent

DoNews, 3/07/12

Following Chinese internet giant Tencent's (0700.HK) investment in software developer and game operator Kingsoft (3888.HK), the two companies plan to expand their partnership to first include co-operation of games, followed by Kingsoft developing games for Tencent to operate, according to an industry insider.

The source added that Kingsoft's self-developed martial arts MMORPG JX Online 3 will be one of the games co-operated.

Tencent is reportedly undergoing corporate restructuring, including major changes in its gaming business planned for this year that may include partnerships with other companies.
