Wintek Subsidiary Liansheng to Produce New iPad Panels

Dongguan municipal government adviser Song Tao recently revealed that Liansheng, subsidiary of Apple's display panel supplier Wintek, is expected to start production of display panels for the new iPad by the end of April. Liansheng's target output value for the first year of panel production is RMB 5 bln. An insider at Wintek subsidiary Masstop revealed that in 2012, Liansheng's plant in Dongguan, Guangdong province will have a production capacity of 4 mln 10-inch touch-screen panels per month, while Masstop's Dongguan plant will be at a production capacity of 3 mln touch-screen panels per month, bringing Wintek's total production capacity for touch-screen panels from its Dongguan plants to 7 mln per month.
