On April 4, China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) announced on its official Sina Weibo microblog that it would combine its marketing and sales departments as part of an overall reorganization of major departments and management, including the marketing, network construction, and product development departments.
A source inside Shenzhen-based Internet company Tencent's (0700.HK) game division revealed to the National Business Daily today that the company was in talks with Disney about future partnerships on cartoon R&D, but that financial details of the partnership could not be revealed at this time.
Ru Jigang, general manager of Beijing-based bi-directional network reconstruction solution provider Topvision Technologies, a subsidiary of Beijing-based digital video and IPTV system provider Sumavision (300079.SZ), recently announced that a draft for comment for the broadcast television network bi-directional conversion technology standard C-DOCSIS (China-DOCSIS) has passed; the standard will thus likely become the first industry standard for Next-Generation Broadcasting (NGB) access.
