Beijing-based Android handset developer Xiaomi today announced that it has commenced sales for 100,000 mobile phones, 50,000 of which will use WCDMA and 50,000 of which will use CDMA EV-DO. Users are restricted to one phone order each and are required to pay in full online with their orders. Xiaomi will begin shipments of the phones on April 7 and expects to finish shipments within 2 weeks. At present, excluding the upcoming sale, Xiaomi's total mobile phone sales have reached 1.165 mln units.
