Alibaba Group's B2C e-commerce site TMall today announced that it will invest RMB 200 mln in subsidies for 3C and home appliance vendors participating in its promotional "price war."
TMall reported that its Q1 2012 transaction volume for consumer electronics and home appliances was close to RMB 8 bln, and expects transaction volume for Q2 2012 to exceed RMB 15 bln.
TMall 3C and home appliances channel also plans to collaborate with logistics service providers on the launch of a new service that guarantees the receipt of ordered products free of charge if they fail to reach customers within the contractually allotted time frame.
