Netease VP: Youdao Takes 1% of China's Online Search Market

iFeng.com, 6/04/12

Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) senior vice president Zhou Feng revealed today that the Chinese internet company's Youdao search engine has secured 1% of China's search market. Zhou said that the search engine's current "precision search" strategy focuses on categorizing users' search results, rather than on growing its service.

Zhou said that Youdao has formed partnerships with nearly 1,000 e-commerce companies for its e-commerce search, adding that there will be "major changes" to e-commerce search in Q3 of this year - though he declined to say what these would be.
