TMall Personalizes Product Search Based on User Info

Daniel Zhang, president of Alibaba Group's B2C e-commerce site TMall, said on August 2 that the site's product search results now take customers' unique user IDs or cookies into account in order to present results informed by previous purchasing or shopping behavior. TMall makes extensive use of personalization algorithms for search results and marketing resources, with the goal of showing customers the products most relevant to them.
